Oh boy, this is embarrassing.
Here it is Monday and I don’t have a “Wine of the Week” prepared. Maybe I was just so busy with getting a post published each and every weekday last week, I just didn’t have time? Wait, I can’t use that as I’m retired and have ALL the time I need. Okay, here’s one that might work. We actually had fabulous weather all week and just about every waking minute I had I spent outside. I might even be able to do a “Beer of the Week” given that I did spend some time at a local watering hole (outside of course) drinking in the sun and the local brew!
EXCEPT! That wouldn’t be altogether true. I did have some beers, and outside, but not enough to take THAT much time. Oh, Oh, Oh; I got it; I just didn’t drink any wine! I’ve got to be kidding, right? Me not drink ANY wine! So how about any wine good enough to write about? I think I’m getting closer to a viable excuse. HOWEVER! I did attend and pour at a couple of tasting this week, so I did have some outstanding stuff, even wrote about a couple.
Here’s an oldie but a goodie! Writer’s block! That might actually work as I’m saying all the time how my memory is fading AND how much great material can one person write without experiencing writer’s block? Would you believe mediocre material??
So listen, if you have other good suggestions on what excuse I might use, feel free to let me know. Not sure what platform you’re reading this on, so I guess you could “reply” or “comment,” if I was more technically proficient, I might even figure a way to make this some sort of survey. In the famous words of Dana Carvey's SNL Impression of President George H.W. Bush though: “Not gonna do it!”
Let’s just end this with a sincere apology (eh, an apology – this is my blog, I don’t need to grovel), and with my guarantee that next Monday, I’ll be ready! Would you believe the Monday after that?
